COMPANY PROFILE
Since 1962 Tenda Dorica has been operating in the field of bathroom furnishing with the aim of searching, improving and granting a high quality product to be functional and innovative in its aesthetic shape. The tradition and the experience reached throughout 40 years of activity, the constant observation of the market and public has led us to a continuous experimentation of raw materials and colour matching beyond the search for new technologies. Our accessories and furnishing complements are consigned to important Italian designers. This is a choice that strengthens the “100% Made in Italy” label, which represents and grants the wholly Italian production of all our products. Each element created by Tenda Dorica is constantly monitored inside our factory: from their birth to their development and distribution. A careful choice of the precious and time-resistant materials enables our products to keep their characteristics unchanged and the modern use of colours add a remarkable aesthetic value that gains the favour of the public, who has been purchasing our collections for many years also thanks to our efficient customer service and custom-made solutions.
History
Tenda Dorica is born in 1962 and it is among the most representative Italian companies specialised in the research and development of innovative and functional aesthetic shapes and the use of new materials in the field of bathroom furnishing.
In 1988 the meeting with Arch. Furio Minuti (LINK??) produced the series Light: accessories and mirrors with a unique and innovative style that treats steel, brass and aluminium with dynamism and colour. This collaboration has been marked as an important turning-point in Tenda Dorica especially with regard to the design system and the awareness of its importance. Being proud of the big success obtained with this first series, Tenda Dorica and Furio Minuti design the first collection of furniture in phosphated steel with curved doors. The Hi-Fi enables Tenda Dorica to spread its name all over the world. This big success is repeated with the washbasin-holder console belonging to the series Lavabolo and Fly, again designed by Minuti.
In the middle of the 90s the collaboration with Giovanna Bertini started, which has produced various lines of accessories, such as the Kea, Rain (soon afterwards completed with the series of console Noa), Nalu, up to the latest Quadra and Eko.
In that same period the company had the foresight to launch a complete programme of lamps, available in the ceiling, wall and mirror-fitting models, thus further widening the choice of products and services already offered to its clients.
In 2002 Giovanna Bertini also proposes her collection of wood furniture Puzzle, an alternative to the variously coloured background of sets of cabinets by Tenda Dorica. Equipped with washbasins in white ceramic, crystal and natural stone, this series of furniture, storing columns, wall cabinets and consoles actually represents all the possible combinations of simple and minimalist elements.
2000 is the year of the new-starting collaboration with Arch. Pino Montalti, who will be keeping developing new products in the years afterwards, up to the most recent Plate, the novelty of Cersaie 2006. A sheet of thermo-formed wood constitutes the unbroken surface of the console Plate, which gathers and harmoniously organises the necessaries for the bathroom both on the vertical and horizontal level.
In October 2004 new collaborations start again: firstly, with Adele Orsini, a designer who creates the collection of mirrors Riflessi, a singular series of glass surfaces with variously coloured patterns that recall the Beat Generation’s time; secondly, with designers such as Nanni Cruciani and Andrea Dichiara, who carry out the line of wood consoles Bagus.
